Fashionable, not shoppingaholic. Is it possible?

Today I looked at some people for a while. Girls, young teenagers. Almost all of them were wearing the same time of clothes. Skinny jeans.  Nike shoes. Denim jacket. They follow a pattern created by our age society, but they don’t realise that being dressed all the same way, everyday, makes them look a little pathetic. Why don’t they see? Because that way, they are accepted.

Acceptance. I believe that that’s the question. I want to believe. That’s not that they don’t have personality, it’s that, nowadays, being different means exactly being different. Stand out. And at this age (if not at all ages) being different is not a “safe” way of life. We run the risk of being adored or being hated. And yes, I know what I am talking about, I know what is being rejected for no reasons.

Of course, I’m not defending that obsession for difference. Just because everyone brushes their teeth several times/day, we won’t stop doing it on order to be different. I think the important is not to try desperately to stand out of the crowd; the important is to find our taste and act (not only dress) as we really like. Be the persons we are.

Do you love to wear your denim jacket? OK. Do it. Seriously, you should. What you should not do is to dress like that because other people like it.

Now you may be questioning how this is related to the title. See that “skinny jeans, Nike shoes and denim jacket” generation? In order to be fashionable, every time a new “high school’s big trend” appears, they run to the shopping centre, ready to ruin their pocket money. To them, being fashionable means buy what people are wearing at that moment.

Lately, I’ve been thinking “Do we really need it? Do I?”. I use to say “I need the X boots.” “I want the Y dress.” “I need this.” “I need that.”. I just mean, I like, I would like to wear that, but when it comes to shop, I think if it is truly a necessity. It is not. Are you listening to me? It is not a necessity.

This is the dark side of all the fashion exposure at Internet. The spread of this pink world where everyone is super stylish, has huge closets full of Louboutins, accessible to all of us, is the blamed for the excessive consumerism that is so appealing to us. I like it. I like to read hundreds of fashion blogs. I like to look for some street style inspiration (this is a controversial subject too). I like to know the latest trends. We love it. We love this world.

When I started blogging, I wanted to create a fashion blog that would not beg for buying. I wanted to show trends, suggest some items I like, whatever, not obligating people to go shopping. Well, sometimes we have to do it, that's a fact.  We love shopping. My blog should encourage not to shop more, but better. Other of its purposes is create an enjoyable time of reading. We like clothes, we can see clothes without buy clothes. By looking at other people's styles, we can learn how to use our things differently, instead of buy newer. That's the point! Learn what to do with what we have, or - why not? - customize the things we don't like or that don't fit us.
(Amazing! I just found my blog's purposes! Yay!)

What do you think about this subject? Do you agree with me? Let me know your opinion.

SOS: What to wear this Autumn? | Inspiration

Does anyone feel as lost as I do, when I get up in the morning and have to choose what to wear? Here are some photos of other (super stylish) bloggers. Get inspired.

That's right, Autumn is a confusing season. There are still people wearing t-shirts in the street and there are already some in wool sweaters; there are flats, as there are boots. And the uncertainty of the weather, which is between the shy sun and the shameless rain, does not help...

The rule, valid throughout the year, but mandatory this season, is undoubtedly wear what is the most comfortable, in other words: follow our instincts. The old idea that a woman never feels cold is the most foolish thing I've ever heard. If it's raining, it is not appropriate to wear sandals, and perhaps it's still not cold enough to wear scarves, as I've seen out there. But of course, the comfort issue should not be taken to the extreme, I would not risk wear pajamas in public, but if the idea is to call attention, who knows? - "To each his own".

[And now you may be thinking "What's new? Everyone knows this." Yeah, but I had to write something to fill the post, so nobody can say that I no longer care of the blog. The promise that one day I'll make of this a nice webpage is still up, and the attempt to learn how to write in english too.]

Did you notice the extra long boots? And the tartan?
I've lots of hot fall trends to tell you about soon! Keep following my blog :)

Fashion&Style | Fall/Winter 2013-14 Trends

Navy blue
I love it, wheter it's summer ou winter. This time, dark blue is the new black. Intense and classic. Definitely, the next winter's standout colour.

Tweed
This wool fabric is back, so run while you can!

Exotic furs
Not one of my favorite trends at all, but it is different... Be aware, they are out there ;)

Oxblood red
Not new, but surely another winter's colour.

Metallic mesh
A kind of armor inspired pieces, delicate at the same time. Looks good too :)

Powder pink coats (ok, all the pastel stuff)
Ok, I got it, delicateness is the way. Such a wonderful way! Romantic, pink and angelic - I'm in!

Chunky scarf
Oversized knit scarfs are... cozy. Really, really cozy. That's all I need to say.

Doctor's bag
They are there to stay and we don't mind that much.

Turtleneck
Not that cool, but we can deal with it. Again: cozy.

Ecru
Whites are only for summer? You're wrong, ma friend. And this color looks so good to me. I need it.

Youthful prints
The most adorable trend ever. Cute hearts, stars or even childhood characters like Bambi. Lovely.

Gostaram?

I loved this trends! It looks so much fresher, more youthful than the usual. Am I wrong?
What do you think? Did you like it?

DIY Inspiration | Bracelets

Hello! I bet you have missed me! (Nobody contradicts! Let me be happy.) Now that I'm finally thinking about my well-deserved summer holidays, after all the exams and exhaustive activities as volunteer. (Let's ignore the fact that all back to school campaigns have already begun, so that I won't rid myself in tears.)

What about you? Are your holidays going well? Mine are still being planned, but of course, among all the plans shall be making many jewellery pieces (and perhaps I will dedicate some time to the blog, I didn't lose hope yet). Here are some suggestions.

The 15 affordable eco-friendly cosmetics you need to know

The eco-friendly cosmetics (which I talked about here) are a good alternative to the conventional cosmetics , because they are chemical free and biodegradable. But the price matters, that's right. Yes, who can purchase sophisticated products if you like, there are lots of brands available.
However, there are others that put at our disposal cosmetics that don't harm our skin and the environment, at prices much more affordable.

Below you can find 15 examples of these products, of various brands, each with different principles, as the use of 100% natural ingredients, or the 100% cruelty-free policy.
